Naat and Nasheed
Naat is poetry that specifically praises Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Many of the famous scholars in the earlier days of Islam wrote Naats. One of Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam's followers was Hassan ibn Thaabit, famous for his poetry that defended Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam in response to rival poets that attacked him and his religion.
